Nikki Webber Allen is a veteran of the entertainment industry with over 15 years of experience managing celebrity talent and producing content for media powerhouses including Warner Bros., HBO, ABC, 20th Century Fox, MTV, BET and TV One.
In 2013, she experienced a devastating loss when her beloved 22-year old nephew ended his life after years of battling depression and anxiety. Since then, she's made it her mission to spark awareness of mental health issues in communities of color. She believes that the cultural stigma of mental illness keeps many people from seeking help.
To this end, Nikki launched I LIVE FOR..., a 501c3 nonprofit that uses storytelling, through multiple media platforms, to end the stigma around mental health discussions. In addition to the #storiesbreakstigma social media campaign, she's producing a documentary to tell the candid stories of young people dealing with these disorders.
In recognition of her work with I LIVE FOR..., Nikki was selected for the coveted TED Residency program, an in-house incubator for breakthrough ideas, where she spent four months working out of the NYC headquarters with other exceptional people from all over the map. She is also a recipient of the Marie Forleo B-School for Social Entrepreneurs scholarship and the Walter Kaitz Fellowship for executive leadership in the cable television industry.
She has an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School University in New York, NY and a B.A. in Communications from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
